Helen Evans is a Kent based artist working mainly with pastel and lino print. Her work is inspired by the landscape, towns, villages and animals she sees around her.
Helen’s animals often look grumpy or just downright strange, but she enjoys trying to find each animal’s inner self and bring it out within the picture.
Helen’s landscapes and street scenes tend to be eerily empty and the colours filtered through the emotions that the place evokes. Even when returning to a familiar scene the feeling can be completely changed by external or internal factors which bring a fresh perspective to the work.
Helen studied fine art and graphic design at Camberwell School of Art, as well as art history at University College London. Helen sells original works in pastel, limited edition lino prints as well as cards and other gifts with images of her work on. It is also possible to commission an original work.
