Trust for Thanet Archaeology

The Trust for Thanet Archaeology is a charitable Trust set up to promote the study of Thanet's Archaeology. The Trust offers professional archaeological services in Thanet and East Kent as well as maintaining a Thanet Sites and Monuments Register. The Trust works closely with the Isle of Thanet Archaeological Society (click on logo below for link to IOTAS website).

The unique geographical setting of the Island has contributed to the diversity and richness of Thanet's archaeology. The Trust curates the Virtual Museum of Thanet's Archaeology, a website set up in 2005 to promote the archaeological heritage of the Isle in the absence of a dedicated archaeological museum.

Through the curation of the Virtual Museum website and the Sites and Monuments register the Trust aims to maintain a comprehensive account of the archaeology of the Isle of Thanet and to act as a focus for education, research and interpretation of Thanet's archaeology.

The Trust is situated in premises on the Quex Estate at the Antoinette Centre, a beautifully restored barn named after Miss Antoinette Powell-Cotton.
