Job Opportunities at Quex Park & Powell-Cotton Museum

There are currently two vacancies at the Powell-Cotton Museum.

The Powell-Cotton Museum has two exciting job opportunities to become part of the newly created Collections and Engagement Department.  We are seeking a full time Learning and Engagement Officer and a Learning Assistant (fixed term contract July to September) to join the existing team.

The Powell-Cotton Museum currently attracts 40,000 visits a year of which over half come as family groups, including more than 2,000 under 5’s.  In the last five years we have worked to develop our offer for families including the creation of an interactive gallery as well as the delivery of workshops, activities and events throughout the year to meet their needs and expectations.

As a world-renowned institution we are home to one of the most scientifically important collections of natural history and ethnography in the world.   An inscription over the Museum’s original entrance captures Major Percy Powell-Cotton’s vision for the museum: “Held in trust for the benefit of students and the enjoyment of visitors”.  These two posts will increase capacity on site for the delivery of a wider learning programme connected to the collections and their stories and allow us to deliver against this legacy for learning.
