Antoinette [Tony] - attention to detail!

Without people on hand with the skills to survey and draw the pits and finds, Tony had to rely on photographs, her written descriptions and rough sketches for record purposes – hence her pocket sized field books.  Back at Quex Park she transferred this information on to a series of index cards and put notes on the back of the photographs, copies were mounted on card which were then listed with relevant notes, all were then filed away.

In the summer months of 1965 pit N with all its cells was well photographed and analysed which allows us and future researchers to better understand this Iron Age habitation of Minnis Bay 2000-4000 years ago.
