Volunteering at Quex

The generous support of volunteers makes a huge difference to the services that the Powell-Cotton Museum, House and Gardens is able to offer visitors. Please consider volunteering a little of your time to help us achieve our goals and aims and be part of our fast growing Volunteer program in any of the following areas of our work:

  • Assist our professional team of Collections and Archivists in the conservation, cataloguing and care of our world class natural history, and ethnographical collections.
  • Assist our Learning team in interacting with our diverse visitors, including helping with activities and museum talks.
  • Volunteer as a Gallery Steward working within the Museum galleries and House.
  • Volunteer within the Gardens, either assisting with general gardening duties under the guidance of our expert Head Gardener, or by sharing your carpentry and general maintenance skills
  • Supporting us with our fundraising efforts from planning and managing events, or taking part in activities on our behalf.

Potential Volunteers will be invited to an introductory talk and tour, followed by a discussion with our volunteering officer before they move into each specific area of work.

We offer a basic induction program as well as specific training and support for each area of our organisation.

If you are interested in applying for one of our voluntary roles, please complete the volunteering interest form below and return it to volunteering@quexmuseum.org  download the application form and return it by post for attention of Volunteering.
