Jason Pay is a photography student at Canterbury Christ Church University and is due to graduate this year. His experiences through travelling and exploring new cultures and places inform the core of his practice. In 2014 Jason visited Uganda as part of a wildlife expedition to see a variety of animals in the wild. Whilst on this expedition he travelled between five national parks passing through Ugandan villages. On these journeys he made 175 portraits of people living along the roadside. Mzungu (white man) was the affectionate chorus sung by children to Jason as the jeep drove by. With little interaction or direction, Drive By provides a small glimpse into the communities that Jason Pay encountered.
