Expedition Records

By the time thirty-year-old Percy Cotton founded his museum in 1896 he had already completed a two-year World Trip and had begun to explore Africa, a lifelong passion. He would undertake a further twenty-six collecting trips, as well as several visits to Europe.

His detailed records of each venture were stored as individual ‘trip packages’.  These have now being sorted listed and boxed to meet professional archival standards. A cataloguing project is underway.
